"Now is Good" Movie trailer analysis

Now is Good

The movie "Now is Good" is based on a novel called "Before I Die" and this is the novel our trailer is going to be based on. This movie is a Romance/Drama (Hybrid) movie about a girl dying of leukaemia and has refused to take treatment. She makes a list of all the things she'd like to do before passing away (bucket list).

The certificate for "Now is Good" is PG-13. I think they chose this movie to be a PG-13 movie because, some scenes may be inappropriate for children under 13. As it involves an illness, use of drugs, and the movie briefly uses strong language.

The tittle for the movie in the movie trailer is shown few seconds towards the end of the trailer. This is so after the audience watches the trailer, they will obviously comes to the end of the trailer and they see the name of the trailer. This is because putting the tittle at the end of the trailer, is so that in the beginning of the trailer it would grab the audiences attention, and once its caught they would want to know what the name of the trailer is.

The narrative of warm bodies from the trailer is that there is another wolrld of zombies on the same world as humans. There's a group of humans who go into the zombie world and zombies see them, and chase after them. They lock themself in a room thinking that would keep them safe away from the zombies but it isn't, the zombies break into the room and end up killing all the humans except one. There's this girl which one of the zombie instantly falls in love with, we can tell this because there's a scene of him looking at her and then his heart starts beating rapidly. The zombie doesn't kill the girl he looks after her, and every second he's with her, he's changing more and more into a human. Finally in the end of the trailer there's a huge fight scene, which builds up to the very end of the trailer which is when they both end up jumping out from a high window leaving the audience on a cliff hanger.

Voice over is used to introduce a character from the movie, the voice over is used as a narrator. So the voice over talks about his life; about him, his friends, and what he does pretty much everyday. This is linked to the genre, which the main genre is fantasy, because he is a zombie. However because he's a zombie he can't talk, so the voice over is used to say his thoughts, what he's saying in his mind.

As I said before the genre is fantasy, however it's got more than one genre which makes it a hybrid. This movie is a romcom (romance and comedy), action and adventure, and it's a fantasy. We can tell this because the romance you see his heart beating at the sight of her. The comedy when the voice over says the cheesy jokes. Action and adventure, when there's a fight scene. Also fantasy, because zombies aren't real.

Byzantium

What is the narrative of the film and how is this revealed in the trailer?

In the beginning of the trailer you see the girl write in her diary about her life which she can't tell anybody. After she writes in her diary just in case anybody finds it, she rips out the pages and throws the pages into the wind. It also says that her mother has been living on human blood for two centuries, giving away the fact that shes a vampire. You can see that the girl in the trailer is turning slowly from human to a vampire as you can see she notices this old man in what looks like a hospital, and then her face expression starts turning guilty, her nail starts to grow really long. Its a cut shot but later on it continues, and you see the girl drag her nail across the elderly mans neck.
There is a girl and a mother relationship so they are really close, but when the girl gets a boyfriend, and tells him about "their little secret". Meaning the mother and the girl being a vampire. So in the end the girl comes into this room her nail grows really wrong and she says "i'm sorry for what im about to do", So we don't know if shes about to do something to either her mother or her boyfriend leaving the audience in a cliffhanger.

What is the genre (or genres) of the trailer and how do we know?

This trailer/ movie is a hybrid, as it is a mixture of romance/fantasy/action and adventure. We can tell its a romance movie as there's a scene of the girl and her boyfriend kissing.
It's also a fantasy and we can tell this is the obvious genre, as we all know that vampires aren't real.
There's a bit of action and adventure in the trailer as you see a lot of action in the movie.

A way Lynxs could advertise their products without making it sexist

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xlJn2TElQE

This link takes you to the Lynxs Apollo Fireman Ad, and this shows a bit of sexism in this advert towards women. This video shows a house on fire, a women who needs rescuing, and a fireman who saves the day. The women glares into the firemans eyes, until she catches eye with an astronaut, and she ditches the fireman for the astronaut. The slogan for this video is "Leave a man, Return a Hero".

The denotation to this video is the women falls for the braver men. First she fell for the fireman as he went through a lot just to save her, but then she saw the astronaut. The fireman is nothing compared to the astronaut, there is a big difference in bravery. This is why the women ditched the fireman for the astronaut.

At the end scene it says "and enter for your chance to go into space", The website explains that this is the opportunity for a  few BRAVE MEN for the chance of a lifetime. This is sexist to women because, there are brave women out there who want to go out into space, because of the discrimination on the grounds of gender, Lynx had no choice but to let women enter in this competition. If it wasn't for the discrimination on the grounds of gender, Lynx would still be only letting men participate in this competition, which is a very sexist stereotype.

To make it less sexist they could have been brave and shown a female astronaut, with only the guy wearing their product standing a chance with her. It fits with their brand values, shows the effect of their product and challenges existing sexist stereotypes.

Lynx Preparation CA

Lynx has created a type of message to show that the product. As you can see in this image that the nurse has caught the scent of the Lynx product, and is about to let go of the elderly in the wheelchair onto a road.
The Lynxs represents that it makes men and women fall in love. As you can see in the image that the women is giving direct eye contact to the man.

The brand is represented in this scene because at the top right hand corner there is the Lynx Logo so you know what advert it's for.
Also i think this is the most important scene, because as soon as the women lets go of the elderly it causes a huge amount of chaos. She only lets go of the wheelchair because the scent of the Lynx attract was so strong, making her forget about her surroundings.
In the advert there's a lot of women wearing uniform, its very effective because the outfit appeal to the men.
This image shows who the target audience is, in this image you see an old man in a wheelchair on the road about to get hit by a car. Generally if this would happen people would help him, but in this case there ignoring him. So it shows that the target audience for this product isn't for old people.

This image is stereotypical as they use young slim and
beautiful cheerleaders. So there trying to say that if you use lynx you might look as beautiful as they do.
The cheerleaders are being represented quite animalistically, as the posture they're in show that there wild and animal like. It's trying to make them look animal like hunting for prey, in this case the prey is men wearing Lynx.
The media platform is a TV advert, it has a very good narrative, which will make people remember the advert, and they might want to buy the product. This advert would be put on TV around evenings/night. This TV advert isn't as sexual as most other lynx adverts, but it quite sexual. They only put it around these timings because, they wouldn't want their kids watching something like this.
In this image it shows who the target audience is for. So where it says "new lynx attract for him + for her",  it shows that it just isn't for men, its for women too. Lynx is normally targeted for men, but loads of women bought the Lynx as well. So they decided to make Lynx for women, so there would be more money earned.                                                     The codes and conventions in this image would be the Unilever logo at the top right hand corner. They put it right at the end so we would notice and remember.
At the bottom centre there are social media uses called gratification theory. So if the audience want to find out more about Lynx they would on those websites, making the website more popular.
The Lynx attract bottle is very slim and tall, representing two tall buildings fitting in with the landscape in the background. Also it could represent the twin towers, this could be because the twin tower incident was a lot of chaos, and in this advert there is a lot of chaos, making it fit in.
